On April 12, 2014 an innovative new exhibit will open at the Monterey Bay Aquarium. "Tentacles: The Astounding Lives of Octopuses, Squid and Cuttlefishes" will be an intriguing look into the behaviors of this interesting group of marine animals. Also known as "cephalopods," these members of the mollusk family are identifiable by their large heads, and many arms or tentacles. Marine biologists have been
known to call them "cephs" for short!
The eagerly awaited exhibit will feature an octopus grotto, and will showcase the challenges of displaying these elusive creatures. The Aquarium's "octopus wranglers" will share surprising stories of these rarely-seen animals, who can be playful escape artists in addition to secretive seekers of unlikely hiding places.
